2002 Workshop
In 2002, 12 new teachers will join the QuarkNet program,
coordinated and mentored
by the lead teachers and project scientists
from the ATLAS group.
The teachers will participate in an intensive
Workshop that combines lectures and lab activities (Agenda).
Teachers will
become familiar with current and future experiments in particle physics
and other scientific work at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
The focus of the activities will be on their extension into the high
school physics classroom.
The lab work encompasses a wide range
of topics, from radiation sensors to microelectronics to
mechanics, and provides ample stimulus to develop teaching
examples and demonstrations for the classroom.
Program Dates
Wednesday, 26 June, 2002 - Friday, 12 July 2002 and two additional
Saturdays during the school year.
Thursday, 4 July and Friday 5 July
